ARUVA Data Deletion Policy
DPDP Act 2023 guidelines on requesting personal data purging, what data gets deleted vs. retained, timelines, and user rights.
Welcome to ARUVA (www.aruva.in). This Data Deletion Policy explains how you can request deletion of the personal data we have collected about you, what data can and cannot be deleted, and the process we follow to honour your request. This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Account Deletion Policy.
1. INTRODUCTION
ARUVA is committed to protecting your privacy and giving you meaningful control over your personal information. You can request deletion of specific personal data, or all personal data associated with you, in accordance with applicable Indian laws including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
2. SCOPE OF DATA DELETION
This policy covers personal data collected through:
- Account registration and profile information
- Bookings, transactions, and chats on the ARUVA platform
- Uploaded media, gallery, portfolio, and reviews
- Cookies, device data, and usage analytics
- Customer support communication
3. TYPES OF DATA WE COLLECT
- Identity Data: Name, email, phone number, date of birth, gender.
- KYC Data: Government-issued ID, address proof (where applicable).
- Profile Data: Profile photo, bio, skills, gallery, portfolio.
- Transaction Data: Bookings, payments, invoices, refunds.
- Technical Data: IP address, device info, browser type, cookies.
- Communication Data: Chats, support tickets, emails.
4. WHAT WILL BE DELETED
Upon a valid data deletion request, ARUVA will delete:
- Your profile and contact information
- Profile photos, gallery items, and uploaded media
- Reviews and ratings authored by you (where legally permitted)
- Saved preferences, wishlists, and search history
- Chat history with other users (your side of the conversation)
- Marketing and communication preferences
5. WHAT MAY BE RETAINED
Certain data may be retained even after a deletion request, where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including:
- Transaction, invoicing, and tax records (as per Indian tax laws)
- KYC and verification records (as per RBI / regulatory mandates)
- Records relating to ongoing disputes, fraud investigations, or legal proceedings
- Information required to enforce our Terms or protect the rights of other users
- Anonymized/aggregated analytics data that no longer identifies you personally
Retained data is stored securely and access is strictly restricted.
6. HOW TO REQUEST DATA DELETION
You can submit a data deletion request using either of the following methods:
- Email Request: Send an email from your registered email ID to info@aruva.in with the subject "Delete My Data".
- In-App Request: Log in → Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Data and follow the on-screen instructions.
Please include the following details in your request:
- Full name registered on the account
- Registered email address and mobile number
- Specific category of data you wish to delete (or "all data")
- Reason for deletion (optional)
7. IDENTITY VERIFICATION
To prevent unauthorized requests, we will verify your identity before deleting your data. Verification may include:
- OTP verification on your registered mobile number or email
- Confirmation reply from your registered email ID
- Government ID verification in certain cases
8. PROCESSING TIME

9. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS
Where your data has been shared with trusted third parties (e.g., payment gateways, cloud providers, analytics tools), we will request them to delete your data in line with their respective policies and applicable contractual obligations. We are not responsible for data independently collected by such third parties from sources other than ARUVA.
10. IMPACT ON YOUR ACCOUNT
- Deleting all of your personal data will effectively disable your account.
- You may lose access to bookings, subscriptions, history, and saved content.
- Unused wallet balance, credits, coupons, or referral rewards may be forfeited.

11. YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS
Subject to applicable laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of personal data (subject to lawful exceptions)
- Withdraw your consent for processing at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority

13. GOVERNING LAW
This Data Deletion Policy shall be governed by the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Delhi.
